CSEC Evening Classes Programme
In the year 2011, the Mandeville Seventh-day Adventist Church embarked on a programme to give adults and other school leavers "a second chance". This second chance was an opportunity for them to obtain CSEC passes, thus equipping them with the necessary qualifications to pursue tertiary education or find a job. Since the inception of the CSEC Evening Classes Programme, hundreds of students have benefitted as most completed the programme with the qualifications for which they sought.
Classes are held for at least two (2) hours per subject each week and are taught by well-qualified trained teachers, some with Master's Degrees. All teachers are volunteers, thus students do not pay any tuition; only a small ancillary fee for administrative purposes. Registration is usually done in August & September.
Classes are traditionally conducted face-face. However, facilities are available to conduct online classes via the Moodle Platform. Students are also able to sit INTERNAL exams at their own leisure, using the Adventist Resource Centre (ARC) Learning Management System (LMS) Website (ARCLMS).
Subjects offered include:
☞ English Language
☞ Human & Social Biology
☞ Information Technology
☞ Mathematics
☞ Office Administration
☞ Principles of Accounts
☞ Principles of Business
☞ Social Studies
